Job Description
Minimum of 3 years progressive feed mill manufacturing experience
Experience in automated feed processing and related equipment
Sound understanding of poultry nutrition and feed formulation
Overall management of the feed mill operations and staff
Handle purchasing of raw maize, soya, sunflower and other raw materials
Ensure installation and running of a small pelletized feed machine with the ability to expand
Handle raw material and ingredient stock keeping and ordering to ensure the minimum inventory levels are kept
Schedule feed mill activities to ensure a smooth supply of feed to the farms and supply of raw materials
Ensure consistency and quality standards are met in the following areas: Grinding, Batching, Bin Management and Load out
Ensure raw materials meet the standards for quality and nutritional value
Formulate feed to meet the requirements for birds in different stages of production
Periodically test the nutritional value of feed and raw materials
Keep updated of industry trends and information regarding feed mill equipment, operations and nutritional issues
Ensure equipment inspections, cleaning and calibrations to assure quality control
Investigate nutritional disorders and the safe storage of feeds.
Select and train employees of the feedmill
Prepare daily and monthly reports

Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Animal Science, Feed Science or related field
Software MS Office
